Response time is up to 30 days under the Maryland Public Information Act. The first two hours of research time are free. After that, the county charges based on the actual hourly rate of the staff member handling the request. Standard copy fees are $0.25 per page for requests over 20 pages. A police report costs $5.00. Body worn camera footage costs $40.00 per request. The department deployed Axon Body 3 cameras to all sworn officers as of September 2021.

Sex Offender Registration in Anne Arundel County

Sex offender registration in Anne Arundel County is handled by the Police Department. The registration phone number is 410-313-2280. All in-person registration and periodic check-ins take place at the police department. Under CP § 11-704, registration is required for all Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III offenders. New registrants must appear within three days of release from a correctional facility or moving into the county.

Anne Arundel County uses Maryland's three-tier classification system. Tier I offenders register for 15 years with six-month check-ins. Tier II offenders register for 25 years with six-month check-ins. Tier III offenders register for life with check-ins every three months. Any change in address, employment, school, vehicle, or online identifiers must be reported within three days under CP § 11-705.
