Prince George's County Police Sex Offender Registry Unit

The Prince George's County Police Department operates its own Sex Offender Registry Unit to handle in-person registration for all sex offenders residing in the county. The SORU is located at 7600 Barlowe Road, Landover, MD 20785. That address is also the District III station, which serves as the departmental headquarters. The SORU phone number is 301-583-7128. Every sex offender living in Prince George's County, regardless of tier level, must register and complete check-ins at this location. There is no remote or mail-in option for periodic verification.

Under CP § 11-705, new registrants must appear within three days of release from a correctional facility, the start of community supervision, or establishing a residence in Maryland. The same three-day window applies whenever any registered information changes, including a new address, job, school, vehicle, phone number, or email, per CP § 11-704. Registrants must also notify the SORU of all physical addresses, not just a single primary address.
